We have been privileged to work with some fantastic organisations on some important projects this year. Thank you to everyone we have worked with, especially those who have taken part in the many interviews we have conducted. Do get in touch if we can help in 2020!

Highlights

With Cancer52 we ensured the voice of people with rare and less common cancers was heard http://bit.ly/38SjAa7. They face a tough time through diagnosis & treatment and our report told their stories.

We also worked throughout the year with Cancer52 to keep rare & less common cancers high on the agenda of the NHS.

Another project that told the stories of people was our work with The Stroke Association. We wrote four reports looking at the hidden effects of stroke, how it affects people's relationships and lives, the impact on carers & care after hospital https://www.stroke.org.uk/lived-experience-of-stroke-report

These reports were based on a large survey of people affected by stroke. They tell a powerful story of how a stroke can disrupt people's lives and how people can face a struggle on the road to recovery

Working on projects that highlight what is happening on the ground is really meaningful. A report that did just that showcased different aspects of clinical commissioning from CCGs around the country. http://bit.ly/2tr34gW for NHS Clinical Commissioners.

We also enjoy holding Government to account. With Kate Jopling and Dan Jones we contributed to a review of the Government's Loneliness Strategy, https://www.redcross.org.uk/about-us/what-we-do/we-speak-up-for-change/a-connected-society.

Loneliness is a thread that runs through many of our projects, so we hope this remains a Government focus.

Finally, we worked with ILCUK to produce two reports, one on Breast Cancer and ageing, https://ilcuk.org.uk/ageism-in-breast-cancer/ & another summarising a major academic study into agitation & dementia https://ilcuk.org.uk/exploring-dementia-and-agitation-how-public-policy-needs-to-respond/

We’ve done lots more too. From training on policy and influencing to designing operating models for ways of working. If we can help you and your organisation, please do get in touch. We’re always happy to talk through new ideas!

Here’s to a happy, healthy and successful 2020 to all our clients, colleagues and contacts - and to all those they represent and support!
